Cornelio Gallo e L’apposizione Parentetica
Paola Gagliardi
Abstract
The so called “inserted apposition” seems to be a typical word order of Latin poetry, which first appears in Virgil’s eclogues. Its origin has been assigned to the neoteric poetry and has been attributed to Gallus. An analysis of the verses in which it appears in the Bucolics seems to confirm its relationship with the first Latin elegist.
