Le Parodie di Melchior Laubanus, ossia sul Trattamento Non Classico di un Classico Romano alla Soglia del XVII Secolo
Izabela Bogumił
Abstract
The paper concerns poetical parodies of Horace by a poet from Silesia district, Melchior Laubanus. In 1607 he published an anthology of his Latin lyrics under the title Musa lyrica sive poeticarum epiphyllidon pars mellica. In the paper some of Laubanus’ poems are presented and then confronted with their Roman poetic models, that is with the odes by Horace; subsequently, Laubanus’ method of parodying ancient Roman poet is under examination.
