Odysseus’ Erste Stunden zu Hause – Verkehrte Gastfreundschaft und Andere Rituale (Od. XVII und XVIII)
Łucja Zięba
Abstract
The events in books XVII and XVIII of the Odyssey are to be considered as part of Odysseus’ gradual reintegration into Ithacan society. This is underlined by the performance of the rituals of supplication and hospitality. Yet the suitors’ hospitality which Odysseus experiences in his own house disguised as a beggar is a reverse hospitality.
